Croeso yn ôl i Gymru

Our first flight with Vueling .. basic but cheerful staff, unlike our BA crew from New York, where one of the crew asked me how I was doing and I replied 'Great thanks, how are you?'  The response with flicked eyes and depressed voice was 'Oh just living the dream'  It got worse from then on.  Afternoon tea in Premium class was a muesli bar!

A classic bus ride from Cardiff to the railway station.  A beaming driver welcomed us on board and then roared off down the twisting road to the railway station.  He carefully guided us to the right side of the track where we hopped onto a two carriage train.  Just love the conductors who constantly hop up and down the train checking tickets.  Some have little hole punches but most just do a swirl with their biros.  The Welsh are just so friendly and helpful!  Maybe a bit too much sometimes... check this out

Back in Swansea we started to explore.  First day walking to Mumbles.  Very pretty parks.  There is a huge park that start near our house which leads right down to the water and then you can walk along the beachfront past all the colourful houses to Mumbles.

Loved being back near the ocean... realise how much we miss it.  The jellyfish were just amazing.   I had forgotten just how far the tide goes out.

Mumbles Pier brought back lots of childhood memories, with the amusement park that we were only allowed to go to on the last day... oh how we savoured that moment after walking past it every day.  How disappointed was I when the coins didn't topple over into the dish below... spending money gone in a moment. Put me off gambling for life!  Mum just loved that game!

Walking along Mumbles Pier brought back lots of happy memories with mum. Mum has always attracted people who want to talk to her ... anywhere, anytime.   I took her on holiday to St David's Head because that is where Roger and I had a really memorable holiday with mum and dad.   Sure enough within two minutes, mum had wowed the Lifeboat people... and there  she was wearing a life jacket which weighed as much as she did! Lots of happy memories.

Mum and dad loved Mumbles, I think because they could walk the Gower Peninsular beaches... just as we will do!
