Armeni.. Minoan Cemetary

So the very next day we are doing our morning meander and we come across a Minoan Cemetery at Armeni.  "Yassus" we call out.  "Closed" is the answer.  Undeterred I call out, "When will you be open?"... no answer.  "Yassus" I try again.  "Come back at 10.00" is the gruff reply.

Fine by us - time for a Greek Coffee.

Love those little interludes where the cafe owner introduces you to her whole family history via the photos on the wall.  Roger just loves Greek coffee.  I am not too sure.

Back at the site.  The gate is now open.  We ruin the guy's day by asking for a senior's ticket.  With our full price tickets in hand we start to explore.

It is incredible.  Among the scrub are these deep channels which lead to the burial chamber.   No crowds, just us, left puzzling about burial rites.  Back home we can google and here is what we found.
