Our Helmsley walk started off with a gentle walk through farmland. We watched as a young sheepdog quickly rounded up the flock without any human intervention. That is until the farmer and his wife arrived. Then all hell broke loose as they both shouted and scolded. The dog paused, the sheep escaped, the dog followed first one instruction and then another. After ten minutes of chaos, the farmer lost his temper and started kicking the sheep...sadly we left them to it.
As we set off along the path, hundreds of pheasants and partridges emerged from the woodland to accompany us on the path...Bizarre. They tweeted and ran ahead of us, suddenly ducking in and out of the forest.
Eventually we came across acres of breeding grounds.
