So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu....

Why is leaving always a flurry of packing and farewells?

My first farewell was to the choir, sadly I’m not singing August concert with them but will be back to sing Mozart’s Great Mass in C Major in December – Yay!.  Right now, all eyes and ears are focused on singing Carmina Burana at the Royal Albert Hall in London… Ah well it gives me something to do on the plane.

Then a farewell to my two writing groups Pure Class and Beyond Words at Writing NSW… Callan Park is always such a lovely atmosphere, Jacarandas and lovely old buildings.

I can never believe how three hours of talking books and writing goes by in a flash.

The next farewell is to Jane’s lovely flat in Freshwater where we have been staying while they finished off working on our house…

Loved watching flocks of cockatoos fly overhead and then cluster on the tree branches.   Even saw a double rainbow... that has to bring me luck, surely.

We had hoped the renovations on the house would be finished by the time we left, but like all renovations it cost twice as much and took three times as long and so it's still looking pretty desperate   Thank goodness Caleb is in Oz to supervise the final stages.

Another farewell is to my Tibetan friend Phunstok Lamdol.  We are writing her story together.  If we ever get it finished it will be a wonderful story about her journey from Tibet to India and finally to Australia.

More eating, laughing, singing and of course talking writing and books at Tim & Debbie’s.  Oh my goodness, Debbie is such a good cook.  A great night.  So good to catch up with Cindy & Harvey too.

Finally a huge welcome to Hiromi who arrived from Japan on Friday...Looks like they are planning a camping trip in the trailer Caleb built.

But then it was  farewell  on Monday… Yay! Managed to fit in a great meal at the Four Pines before we left

... and so we are on our way…Let our 2019 adventures
